I Tried MTN Fibre X Heres Why I Deeply Regret It
MTN Fibre X Review 2025: Problems, Poor Service, and My Experience
Introduction
MTN Fibre X has not been what it promises to be. From my own experience, it’s been nothing but disappointment. Before you spend your money or try to subscribe, here’s what really happened and what you should know.
My Experience with MTN Fibre X
When I first got a call that MTN Fibre X was available in my area, I was excited. I spoke with the sales agent, made my payment, and waited for about a week for the installation. Eventually, it was installed but that was when the problems began.
After installation, they told me to wait an hour for activation. That one hour turned into three days. When it was finally activated, everything seemed fine at first fast connection, smooth browsing, and good speed. But just one day later, on Tuesday, it suddenly stopped working.
I called customer care, and they told me something that made no sense. They said they were just testing the device. I thought it was a joke because I had already paid and expected a full activation, not a test run.
Days passed, and the internet never came back on. I kept calling, and each time I got a different excuse. Eventually, when I tried to reach out again with my Fibre Number (F/N ID), they said it was invalid. How can a brand-new connection suddenly become invalid?
MTN’s Response
Each time I called, I got vague answers like “We’re looking into it” or “We’re testing the line.” There was no proper explanation, no fix, and no follow-up. It felt like MTN didn’t even have my device properly registered in their system.
It’s frustrating to pay for something that doesn’t work and then have customer care treat it like it’s not a big deal.
What You Should Know Before Buying
If you’re considering getting MTN Fibre X, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Some installations might not be properly activated, even if they tell you it’s live.
- Your Fibre ID (F/N ID) can show as invalid if the device isn’t registered correctly.
- Customer support can be very slow in responding to Fibre X issues.
- There’s a chance your connection will be “tested” before it’s truly active — which makes no sense for paying customers.
My Final Thoughts
I really wanted to like MTN Fibre X. The idea of unlimited, high-speed fibre internet sounded perfect — but the experience has been terrible: poor communication, unreliable service, and wasted time.
Until MTN fixes these issues and starts treating customers better, I honestly don’t recommend MTN Fibre X. Save yourself the stress.
